Reductil - Sibutramine Hydropchloride
Reductil - is it for you?Reductil is a drug that aids weight loss. Principally it is for the clinically obese, those who are overweight and those whose weight causes medical complications. If you are unsure as to whether this means you, you should check your body mass index. Overweight is a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 30. Reductil is NOT for use as a general slimming aid.
Reductil should not be taken by the following people:· Pregnant women or nursing mothers. (Women who are still able to conceive should take birth control whilst taking Reductil. In all cases consult with your doctor. Reductil does not affect birth control.)· Individuals who suffer from blood pressure complications · Individuals who are taking prescription medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (known as MAOI's) · Individuals who suffer from Parkinson's or any other disorder · Individuals who are taking other weight loss medication · Individuals who have had prior reactions to Reductils or sibutramine · Individuals who have had a heart attack · Individuals who have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure or coronary artery disease · Individuals with irregular heart beats (arrhythmias) · Individuals who have liver or kidney conditions · Individuals who have had a stroke or at risk of a stroke · Individuals who suffer from anorexia nervosa · Individuals who suffer from or who have had seizures · Individuals who suffer from depression · Individuals who have eye disorders. · Individuals who are taking any medication that regulate the neurotransmitter serotonin. How does Reductil work?Reductil works by targeting the desire for food.Weight loss with Reductil For the healthiest and most effective weight loss you should have a long term plan. In tests typical weight loss varied between 3llbs and 14llbs during a period of up to six months. Weight loss should be a gradual process, and not a quick fix. Before taking Reductil you should review your diet so that you understand your eating patterns fully and thus you will be able to balance you newly reduced appetite.
Dosages of ReductilThere are two dosages, 10mg and 15mg. One tablet of Reductil is taken each morning. It can be taken with or without food.It is recommended to start with the lower dosage and only increase the dosage if you are not seeing the results you are expecting. This would be after a further consultation with your doctor. The instructions will be provided with your medication. Should you forget to take your reductil continue as usual. Do not take double your dosage to compensate. Reductil is not for children. Discontinuing your treatmentThere have been instances of increased appetite on ceasing to take Reductil. These are rare.
