Levitra – What is it?

Levitra is produced by the Bayer Pharmaceuticals, GSK and SP jointly. GSK also owns the brand Vivanza, which contains the same ingredients as Levitra. Levitra contains the chemical vardenafil, which has been researched and proved to be a form of treatment for erectile dysfunction and impotence. It is classified as a phosphodiesterase enzyme inhibitor.

From a commercial point of view, Levitra is a competitor of two other popular drugs for weak erection, which are Viagra and Cialis. The active ingredients of all these drugs are different – Viagra contains sildenafil, Cialis contains tadalafil and Levitra contains vardenafil. However, all the three work with the same mechanism as they are all phosphodiesterase enzyme blockers. Among the three, Viagra has the highest popularity because it was the first drug of this kind to be invented.

Levitra is available in the form of tablets. It is available in various potencies, such as 2.5 milligrams, 5 milligrams, 10 milligrams and 20 milligrams. Levitra is a prescription medication. Levitra – How does it work?

Phosphodiesterase is an enzyme that can act on the smooth muscles of the penis which help in maintaining the erection.
